Max is an ordinary woman caught up in an extraordinary situation.
She is the widow of JOE the founder and leader of an Outlaw Motorcycle Club, ABIGOR RIDERS MC.
She’s a single mother of two kids BOY and ERIN whom she supports as a tattooist at JOE’S TATTOO PALACE which she co-owns with Joe’s best friend SETH, the current club president.
Max and her family live on a farm out side of town with her brother Worm
is also an Abigor Rider. He runs his bike building business from the big shed on the property and lives in the bunkhouse out the back.
When Boy comes home from his first bike run with his Godfather Bodee he tells his grandfather Ben that he wants to be president of the
Abigor Riders just like his dad was.
Erin his sister, wants him to teach her to ride so she too can join the club.
Boy tells her; “Girls ain’t allowed to join the bike club, it’s only for boys”
When she breaks her arm on his motor bike their grandmother Carmen, who disapproves of Max’s lifestyle holds her responsible and tells her to take better care of the kids.
For his sixteenth birthday Boy wants a Harley Davidson belt buckle like the one his dad wore. Worm knows a guy who has one and he lines it up for Max to buy.
When she gets to the bar the owner Hemi is disrespectful toward her so she cracks him with an uppercut to the jaw.
Later he discovers that Max is Worm’s sister and rides out to the farm to gives her the belt buckle.
Boy’s 16th birthday party is a success. Seth gives him Joe’s Martin guitar.
When she catches her doing drugs in front of Boy and Josh. Max drags Cassie outside by the hair and throws her on the ground.
Seth suggests to Max that she mortgage the farm to buy him out of Joe’s Tattoo Palace after she tells him that she wants to modernise it.
An Abigor nominee Huss, an aggressive Middle Eastern man insists Holly, his naïve girlfriend prove her commitment to him with a “Property of Tattoo”.
Max, tells her; “There’s no way in the world that I will brand any women the property of any man”. When a disappointed Holly is leaving the shop Max offers her a job.
Max mortgages the family home to buy out Seth and renovate Joe’s Tattoo Palace. Worm, Hemi and some of the other club members help her with the renovations.
Feeling indebted to Hemi for his help she agrees for him to move out to the farm when he and Worm partner up in a bike building business together.
Over the next few months there’s an escalating attraction between Hemi and Max and a relationship develops between them.
As a result the friendship between Boy and Hemi fractures.
Conflicted by his loyalty to his father Joe’s memory and his instincts to protect his mum and her happiness. He rebels with his friend Josh and gets into trouble with the police.
Joe’s Tattoo Palace takes longer than anticipated to open and Max risks losing the farm to the bank.
Seth commissions Worm and Hemi to build him a V8 DRAG BIKE and pays them a lot of money up front to do so. Hemi secretly gives his share to Worm to bail Max out with the bank.
Seth sets up a mobile Meth lab and puts on an unqualified Huss, as his cook. Meanwhile, Seth’s drug use is rife and his conduct becomes more erratic and dangerous.
Bodee and other club members are concerned when Seth puts a knife to Weed’s throat during paintball and even more so when they witness for no reason him beat the life out of a stripper in the Clubhouse. The same night Cassie tries to seduce Hemi, but he rejects her. The next morning when he does come home Max asks him if there was someone else? He tells her that she is the only women he needs.
Boy fines papers hidden in the lining of his dad’s guitar case, proving that Joe, had bought Seth, out before he died.
Seth has been deceiving Max all along about the real ownership of Joe’s Tattoo Palace.
It’s a meeting night when Max storms the clubhouse and challenges Seth in front of Bodee and the other members.
This, his rampant drug use and erratic behavior causes an inter-club split.
The majority of the Abigor members go with Bodee and form a new club. “HIGHWAY ROGUES M.C.”
Seth is crazy angry and wants revenge. He orders Huss, and the remaining men to do drive bye’s, beatings, ram raids, bike thefts and finally he declares war.
Convincing Huss, that she is associating with Weed, now a HIGHWAY ROUGE. Seth sets Holly, up to be bashed by Cassie, and the other gutter girls. She is left in a coma in the ICU.
When Max collects Holly’s belongings she challenges Huss about assaulting her, he denies having anything to do with it. She stands her ground against his middle eastern mates; when one tells Huss, not to let a women speak to him like that.
As she pulls into the hospital car park a photo of a woman holding a baby falls out of Holly’s bag and onto the floor. Max picks it up and recognises it to be the same photo in Joe’s old trunk and makes the connection.
After leaving the hospital Holly moves into the farm. She and the grandparents are told the truth about her being Joe’s daughter.
When Huss, is arrested he does a deal with the cops and tells them about Seth’s Meth lab. This gets back to Seth.
Believing he was betrayed Seth, has his brother Bodee, ambushed and bashed by club nominees. He gives a pistol to Huss, who kills Bodee. When he hands it back to Seth, he shoots Huss, in the temple.
Max and family are distraught over Bodee’s death and she gives Hemian ultimatum them or the club. He moves back to the clubhouse.
Boy is shattered over Bodee’s murder. He has since developed an admiration for Hemi and is angry with his mother for sending him away.
He again rebels running away from home to join Hemi at the Abigor Riders Clubhouse.
Meanwhile, Worm tells Max the truth about Hemi giving her the money to pay the bank and why neither of them can leave the club.
When Hemi brings a very messy Boy home, she tells him that she knows everything.
Hemi takes Max and the kids up to a place on the coast where he wants to build their new home. He pulls a ring from his pocket and asks her if she will marry him. She tells him; “Only when you are no longer a club member”.
The drag meet is a family day out. Hemi and Worm deliver Seth’s drag bike and tells him they are leaving the Abigor Riders.
Just as Weed approaches Seth to parlay, he fires a fatal shot killing a Highway Rouge and it erupts into a bloody massacre.
Max sees Seth shoot Josh then train his gun on Boy.
She takes Angry’s gun and with a perfect shot, Max kills Seth.
Hemi was shot in the thigh when he plucked Boy out of the line of fire.
Later the four of them swear to silence about Max killing Seth.
Max, Hemi, Boy and Worm, collect the bikes from the massacre site and bury the dead.
Worm and Hemi are the last two original high ranking full patch members left.
When sorting through the club’s documents they find Seth’s Will.
It turns out that he is wealthy and has left everything to the ABIGOR RIDERS CLUB.
Max wants Joe’s legacy the Abigor Riders motorcycle club closed down and the assets sold and distributed among the dead members families.
She decides to sell Joe’s Tattoo Palace and the farm and move her family to Hemi’s place on the beach for a safer and better life.
